California Dreaming in Los Angeles

[Disclaimer: Picture to come, my mobile hotspot is being a nightmare…another lovely opportunity to practice patience!]

I may have gotten off to a slow start, but I have hit the ground running now and am on my first trip of the year. Destination? Los Angeles, the City of Angels.

I have been here a few times before; my oldest brother calls Hollywood Blvd. his home.  In years past, I’ve hiked the hills, seen the stars, breathed the salty air down by the beach and more. But there is oodles left to discover and I plan on getting overly familiar with all the grub.

California is no doubt one of the best vegan meccas as a whole state, but LA is like the icing that tops the cake. Vegan food galore! This city boasts of all the foodie goodies for the health-nut conscious all the way to the downright deliciously terrible for you. Life is all about balance after all, and I plan to make camp on both sides. But I am absolutely most excited about visiting Little Pine. I have been hearing mouthwatering stories for years, and it’s finally time to taste for myself. I can not wait!

Beyond the glorious food, I hope to catch some silky sunshine and chill vibes at Venice Beach. What is more affordable and more pleasurable than people watching at the beach? LA seems particularly advantageous as keeping a fine tuned physique seems almost a religion here. After I’ve satisfied my candy fix, it’s off to the Art District.

Murals are stories in image, and LA boasts of myriad stories of struggle, triumph and joy. I look forward to getting a closer heart look at this dynamic city by taking a walking tour to feast on fine art made by and for the community.

The last thing I hope to check off on my Must See List is the Getty. Once again, I have heard nothing but good things, and it makes it all the sweeter that it’s free admission. Free fun is my favorite fun!

Although this is my rough game plan, I am sticking firmly to a flexible and open plan of events. I am an adamant believer in going with the flow, and in such a blessed city, it seems I’ll be in good hands. Stay tuned for how the adventure unfolds!
